Members of the Forum participated in three different programmes on legal awareness and empowerment at Kishangarh Baas Sub-Jail; District Court and Malakhera village in District Alwar, Rajasthan on 1st October, 2005. The functions were organized in association with Alwar District Legal Services Authority.

‘Meet the Prisoners’ program was organized in cooperation with the Kishangarh Baas Bar Association at Kishangarh Baas Sub-Jail. Three judicial officers, namely Shri Vinod Kumar Arya, Additional District Judge, Tijara, Shri Manoj Sahariya, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kishangarh Baas, Shri B.B.Gupta, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alwar, Mr. Sher Singh Yadav, President of the Kishangarh Baas Bar Association and about 50 other advocates, Sarpanch of the village and other respectable persons of the area participated in the function.

About 200 prisoners were lodged in the jail. The Forum distributed books on the topics of ethical living, meditation etc. to the prisoners. The speakers at the meeting, including the President of the Forum called up on the prisoners to leave the path of crime and to adopt themselves into good citizens. Mr. Hansaria also urged the members of the local Bar Association to help the poor and do their best even if the litigants are not able to pay their full fees as the prayers by their client would enrich them. It was also emphasized that this is the social responsibility of the legal fraternity. After listening to the difficulties of the prisoners, the Forum alongwith Kishangarh Baas Bar have provided a TV set for the inmates.

In the Court premises of District and Sessions Judge, Alwar, Lok Adalat was held for resolving matrimonial disputes. Members of the Forum helped in counseling the parties to resolve matrimonial disputes. Shri Chatra Ram, District and Sessions Judge, Alwar presided over the Lok Adalat in which other judicial officers, members of local Bar and various NGOs were present. The members of the Forum helped in reuniting several couples in the course of conciliation and mediation.
